TECHNICAL DATA SHEET | MICRO2MIX

Micro2mix is a two-component microcement which has a pure mineral appearance. It is an inorganic coating for floors and walls. Micro2mix consists of Component A, which is primarily fine powdered imported cement, fine minerals, and quartz, and Component B, which is a wa- ter-based environmentally friendly resin. It features high strength, thin thickness of 1-3mm, and seamless applica-tion. Suitable for walls, ceilings, and floors, as well as the overall color effect of furniture and cabinets. providing a natural and mottled texture. It is waterproof throughout and combines flexibility with robustness. It can be applied to almost any surface: cement mortar, terrazzo, marble, tiles, plasterboard, cement sheet or gypsum. It can also be applied vertically or horizontally indoors or outdoors.

USES

Micro2mix is suitable for:

Continuous coating on interior and exterior floors, walls and ceilings. • Coating of furniture/joinery, kitchen countertops, counters, etc. • Underfloor heating and fireplace. • Kitchens, bathrooms, terraces and stairs. • Coating of existing tiles covering. • Interior and exterior feature walls coating. • Landscape gardening and courtyard decoration. • Coating of art decoration, artistic cement furniture decoration, and integrated prefabricated buildings. • Application on residential, stores, offices, lobbies, etc.

APPLICATION METHOD AND USAGE

1. Surface Preparation

Before applying the two-component microcement, the surface must be properly prepared. It should be dry, clean, and free of dust, grease, or dirt. Previous varnish or paint layers must be removed, especially if damaged or deterio- rated. Repair, reinforce, or seal joints, if necessary, before priming.

2. Mix

To ensure the optimal performance of the coating, Micro 2mix must be combined with the Mixed Resin (component B emulsion) and the selected color pigment according to the specified ratio. It is crucial to adhere to the prescribed proportions between the microcement powder and the mixed resin to maintain the integrity of the coating’s prop- erties. The mixing ratio is as follows:

Tint the resulting mixture with color paste according to the specified ratio on the color card.

3. Cement mortar preparation

1. Strictly follow the proportions to mix the pigment into the mixed resin (Component B emulsion) and stir well. 2. Slowly add Micro2mix to the colored mixed resin. Add the powder gradually while stirring with a high-power mixer (continue mixing for at least 5 mins) to ensure even color distribution. 3. Let the mixed Micro2mix sit for over 5 minutes, then stir again before use.

4. Consumption

Performance on prepared surfaces with two-compo- nent microcement is as follows: The better the surface flatness and preparation, the better the performance, lower material cost, and shorter application time. Choose the appropriate method for each application.

5. First Step / Base Coating

After preparing the base surface flatness and ensuring good detail condition (priming with primer), apply two layers of two-component MICRO2MIX BASE coarse base with a metal trowel, with a maximum thickness of 1 mm per layer, drying each layer. The drying time for each layer depends on environmental conditions during application. At tem- peratures between 15-23°C, each layer’s drying time can be 8-12 hours. At temperatures between 23-35°C, drying time is 4-6 hours. Ambient humidity is also a decisive factor, as drying is slower at high humidity (>70% w/w). Sand each layer with 40-grit sandpaper to remove defects.

6. Second Step / Surface Coating

Depending on the desired aesthetic effect, apply two layers of MICRO2MIX surface layer (fine, medium, or ultra-fine finish) with a steel trowel, spreading very thin layers with a maximum thickness of 0.5mm. Use the “wet-on-dry” technique. Allow the previous layer to dry before applying a new one, lightly sanding with 180-240 grit sandpaper. For the final layer and before sealing,sand with 400-grit sandpaper.

7. Third Step / Sealing

(diluted 1:1 with water) with a roller, then apply two layers of two-component protective topcoat with a drying inter- val of 3 hours between layers. Let it sit for at least a week to achieve optimal performance.

8. Maintenance

Allow the two-component protective topcoat to dry for at least a week before contact with water. The two-component protective topcoat achieves full chemical performance in two weeks. Do not use cleanser or covers within two weeks. Clean with a damp cloth and neutral cleaner or soap to prolong the sealant’s life. Do not use harsh cleaning products such as bleach, acetone, or hydrochloric acid.

PRODUCT POT LIFE

The pot life of the MICRO2MIX mixture (Component A + Component B) at approximately 20°C is 6 hours

TOOL CLEANING

Tools should be cleaned with water immediately after use. Once the material hardens, it can only be removed by mechanical means.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

This product includes cement as a component. • Ensure adequate ventilation during use • Minimize contact with eyes and skin and prevent inhalation of dust particles. The use of respiratory protec- tive equipment is recommended. • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment, such as rubber gloves and safety goggles. • The product should not be applied when the ambient temperature is below 5°C or exceeds 40°C. • In cooler temperatures, higher humidity, or poorly ventilated environments, microcement may dry very slowly. This can result in uneven colour due to extended drying times, especially in areas where the coating is thicker. Conversely, in higher temperatures, the workable time is significantly reduced, necessitating more coordi- nated effort among workers to avoid visible join marks. Dispose of empty containers following applicable regulations. Empty containers must be disposed of according to current regulations. Keep out of reach of children. The product contains silica, which may release respirable silica particles during sanding. It is recommended to use appropriate respiratory protection to mitigate exposure.

STORAGE CONDITIONS

The product should be stored in its original sealed container, protected from weathering, at a storage temperature between 10°C and 30°C, in a dry and well-ventilated place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. The shelf life is 18 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly.
